  1. Population and dissenters: There are about Twenty four families in the Parish – There is no dissenter of any Kind.

    Mem. In the time of my predecessor The Parishes of Filleigh & East Buckland being small & of a mean yearly value singly were by the Right Honble Lord Clinton Patron of Both & our Late Bishop of Exeter, Consolidated together, So that now one presentation Serves for both, & they are one in most respects, except paying double Fees, & double Rates.

  2. Public or charity schools: There is no Publick or Charity School in This Parish.

  3. Alms-house, hospital or charitable endowment: There is an House called the Church house, and about five acres of Ground & the Highrent of another Little parcel of Land Leased out for Lives, which belong to the Parish: of all which the Parish officers annually take care & give an account to the parish.

  4. Residence upon cure: When Lord Clinton is not in the Country I reside at an house of mine own in this Parish, which Stands near the Common Center of Both Parishes. {A plain reason for my non residence at East Buckland.}

  5. Curate: My Curate is the Revd Mr. Bartlet Rector of West Buckland, who preaches once every Sunday at East Buckland the Distance between the two parish Churches being but a Short mile: and for his Labour I allow him fifteen pounds per annum and all the Fees.

  6. Divine service at other churches: No.

  7. Frequency of divine service: The People will not give their attendance except on Sundays.

  8. Frequency of communion: Four times in the year.

  9. Number of communicants: There are about Seventy Communicants; of which about Twenty usually receive: and the Number of Those who communicated at Easter were about Twenty.

  10. Catechising of children: About mid Summer, so oft as that all be Catechised.

  11. Chapels or chapels in ruins: There are no Chapel or Ruins of a Chapel in This Parish.
